When a report has been generated using the Essential Reporter utility, it is displayed in the report preview window where it can be viewed and regenerated as necessary. The report can be exported in a PDF or RTF format, or downloaded directly to Microsoft Excel or Word where it can then be printed and saved. The report can also be emailed to one or more recipients.
Generate the report.
Place your cursor over the Export menu and select an option.
Use the following guidelines to continue:
For the Excel, Word, and RTF options, the standard Windows file download prompts are displayed. Follow the prompts to save/open the report in the chosen format.
For the PDF option, a printer-friendly version (.pdf) of the report is displayed in a separate Adobe Acrobat Reader window with printing, saving, and emailing capabilities.
Tip: The Print
button on the toolbar in Essential Reporter utility also opens a PDF version
of the report.
After generating your report, click the Print button on the toolbar in the Essential Reporter utility to display a printer-friendly version (.pdf) of the report. Click the Print button on the toolbar in Acrobat Reader to specify printing options and print the report. Alternatively, export the report to Excel or Word and use the standard Excel/Word print features.
Note:
If your computer does not have email capabilities, this feature cannot
be used.
There are two options available for emailing reports, via the Essential Reporter utility or Adobe Acrobat Reader. To use the Essential Reporter utility for emailing reports, click the Email button after generating your report and follow the prompts to send the report to the appropriate email address.
With Acrobat Reader, the printer-friendly version (.pdf) of a report can be sent as an email message file attachment. Optionally, a link (URL) to the report file can be emailed instead. Recipients of the email need Acrobat Reader to view the report. Follow the steps below after generating your report.
To email reports
Click the Print button to display a printer-friendly version of the report.
Click the Email
button.
Emailing capabilities are available with Acrobat Reader, version 7.0
or higher. As an alternative, you can save the report and add the
file as an attachment when creating an email message.
Click Send Copy
or Send Link when prompted.
A new email message is displayed with the report as a file attachment
or with a link to the report file.
