User-Defined Properties

On the User Defined Property form, set up properties for a parameter to track values in emission equations and for property value reporting and recordkeeping. Properties are fixed characteristics of a parameter that do not change over time, such as:

User-defined properties are entered on the Parameter Definition form and the Emission Model form. Validation criteria can be specified when the property is added to either record. Property types control the data entry format and drive the validation process. The available types are Numeric, Boolean, Text, or Validation List. A base unit of measure is required for the Numeric type. When an actual value is entered for the property, a different unit of measure can be specified as long as it has the same base unit as the one defined for the property.

Use the Validation List type to define the values that are valid entries for the property. When the property is associated with a parameter or emission model, the values are displayed in a field list and are the only options available for selection.

For each property name and validation list entry, equivalent values in different languages can be defined. When localization has been implemented, the Culture setting assigned to a user determines which value is displayed in field lists on Essential forms. Enter the corresponding property names and associate each one with the appropriate language in the Language Dependent User Defined Property section. Enter the corresponding validation list entries and associate each one with the appropriate language in the Language Dependent Validation Text section on the Validation Text form.
