Updating Tag Regulations

Use the Update Tag Regulations form to automate the process of making an applicability determination for each individual component and assigning all applicable regulations. A regulation is applicable for a component based on the component's equipment category and chemical state. For example, HON has monitoring requirements and a leak definition for pumps in light liquid. Therefore, using this form, FEMS will assign the HON regulation to any component assigned the "Pump" equipment category and "Light Liquid" chemical state. Before beginning, make sure the equipment category, chemical state, and leak definition that each regulation applies to have been specified on the Regulations form and the equipment category and chemical state of each component have been selected on the Tag form.

Select all the available regulations and choose the Select All Tags in the Enterprise Entity option. The system determines which regulations apply to each component and only assigns those regulations. When all regulations should not be assigned to all components at an entity, choose the Select Specific Tags in Enterprise Entity option and build a new Tag Filter query or use an existing one to select the applicable components. For example, a query might be built to select all components in "Area 12" that belong to the "Pump" equipment category and the "Light Liquid" chemical state. Regulations will only be assigned to a component if they are applicable.

The Update Tag Regulations form can also be used to remove regulations that no longer apply to a group of components. For example, if a group of components are no longer in a particular chemical service, they will no longer be subject to the same regulations. All updates are reflected in the Regulations section on the Tag form, where regulation applicability can be entered for individual components when necessary.

To globally add or remove regulations for components

  1. Click Data Entry > Tag Information > Update Tag Regulations in the Navigation Tree.

    The Update Tag Regulations form appears.

  2. Select an Entity Name from the list.

  3. Select one or more regulations in the Available Regulation field and click the right arrow button. Just the regulations listed in the Assigned Regulation field will be considered for component updates.

    Remove an assigned regulation by selecting it and clicking the left arrow button.

  4. Follow the guidelines below to specify the components affected by the update:
