The following logs and reports are available to help track and manage PDM activities.
A description of each is provided below.
The Parameter Group Log report (filtered to parameter groups) and the Parameter Log report (filtered to individual parameters) provide capabilities to track parameter result data, including all changes, from the Pre-staging table through Essential database population. Each record is assigned a Transaction Type that describes a PDM event, such as "Imported from Pre-staging", "Modified by Rule", or "Staging Value Edited". Transactions are displayed as line items in the log. The data available for review includes:
Record Timestamps/States
Transaction Types
Email Notification Recipients
Override ID/Approver ID
Parameter Group/Level/Material
Process Unit
Values/Unit of Measure
Text Value/Override Comment
Invalid/Missing/BDL Values
Substituted Values (If multiple rules were applied, all substitutions performed are included.)
Pre-staging Data Origin
Rule Name
Batch ID (the last line item column)
Many Date and Transaction Type filters are available to help you locate a specific set of records for review. Details about the filters are provided below.
Log data can be filtered by the log timestamp (default), value date/time, batch start date/end date, or the batch import time. A user-defined start and end date can also be entered. Generic time period options, such as Today, Yesterday, and Last Quarter, are available for selection. The Start Date and End Date fields will be automatically completed based on the selection. For example, select Last Week and the previous week's Sunday date plus 12:00:00 AM (inclusive) are entered as the start date/time. The end date/time is the following Sunday's date and 12:00:00 AM (exclusive).
Note:
By default, log data is grouped by batch transaction. This option
can be cleared; however, it is recommended that a Start
Date and End Date be entered
before clearing the setting to maximize log performance. The Group
by Batch Transaction option is displayed in the report header section.
Log records can be filtered by Transaction Type on the batch level and/or the value level. Available filters are listed below. Results-related filters refer to parameter results in your Essential database. Review-related filters refer to the Staging table revalidation process. Options to Select All/Clear All filters are available.
