Event Types

Set up classifications, such as "Flood", "Fire", "Waste Release", etc., for event tasking types on the Event Type form. Assign reviewers/approvers to each event type to control the events that are activated at your facility. An option is available to extend reviewer/approver authorization to the same event type at the entity's child (including descendents) entities. Reviewers are authorized to directly activate an event, as well as approve or reject an activation proposed by an unauthorized user. An individual reviewer can be assigned to more than one event type and multiple reviewers can be associated with each event type. Upon activation, tasks associated with the event become live Task Assignments according to the event task configuration.

Two forms are available to identify event type reviewers/approvers:

Reviewers/approvers added to either form are displayed on both forms. Accordingly, any reviewer edits made on either form are reflected on both forms.

Tip:  Consider designating more than one reviewer/approver for each entity and event type combination to avoid possible activation delays in emergency situations. Ensure all reviewers/approvers have a valid email address to receive event tasking-related emails.

For each event type, equivalent entries in different languages can be defined. For example, a "Flood" event type in Finnish, "Tulva", and French, "Inondation", could be specified. When localization has been implemented, the Culture setting assigned to a user determines which value is displayed in field lists on Essential forms. Enter the corresponding event types and associate each one with the appropriate language in the Language Values section.

Event types are entered on the Event Template form for Event Tasking.
