Use the subsections in the Material Composition and Properties section on the Waste Profile form to specify the following information:
For waste materials that are mixtures, specify the component materials and concentration percentages in the Composition subsection. A process stream or mixture can be composed of one or more pure materials and mixtures. For reporting, you can mark a component material as a Trade Secret.
Enter results for physical properties of a waste material in the Physical Properties subsection. Physical properties are characteristics of the material that are fixed, such as its boiling point, molecular weight, and liquid density.
Select an estimation technique for determining the vapor pressure of a liquid or solid in the Vapor Pressure Methods subsection. For mixtures, an entry is not required. A mixture's vapor pressure can be calculated based on the data for its components using Raoult's Law.
Assign one or more physical state, such as vapor, to a waste material in the Physical States subsection. Before you begin, validate a list of physical states using the Physical States form.
Specify a waste material's trace components in the Minor Components subsection. For example, a material might contain mercury in small amounts. You can specify the parts per million amount of mercury found in the material.
Use the Waste Properties and Classifications section on the Waste Profile form to assign properties (about the waste materials you process, store, or manufacture) for tracking purposes. Waste properties are characteristics of a material that do not change as a function of time. Examples include pesticide content, percent dry weight, and whether the material can be pumped. Generally, waste properties help you fulfill reporting requirements, but you can establish virtually any waste property to accomplish entity-specific recordkeeping objectives as well.
To assign a waste property, select the property and the base unit of measure. Then designate the type of result that would be entered for the property—a number, text, or a yes/no response. For those materials that must have specific values, you can enter the typical, minimum, and maximum values. When the actual result for the property is entered, a different unit of measure can be used as long as it has the same base unit as the one selected.

The Waste Classes field on the Manifest Reconciliation form displays each waste classification for the US EPA governing body specified here; multiple classes are separated by a comma. You can also specify that a waste material needs to be managed as Hazardous in this section. The Hazardous designation indicates stricter regulations apply to a classification that would otherwise be more lenient. When shipping the waste, Hazardous materials are included in Hazard Waste reports and the HM option in the Manifest Information section on the Shipment Line Item form is automatically selected.
Tip: An option to include a waste in the Hazardous
Waste report that is not classified as Hazardous by the EPA is available
