User-Defined Picklists

On the User-Defined Picklist form, set up picklists of values that can be selected when entering monitoring parameter results. For example, a picklist called "Variation Cause" could be established with the following values"

A picklist with set values provides greater data entry accuracy and consistency. Picklist values can be selected in the Picklist Value field on the following forms:

For the Parameter Group Data Entry form, the Picklist Values option must also be selected in the Data Entry Grid Configuration section on the Parameter Group/Master Parameter Group form. Refer to Parameter Groups and Master Parameter Groups for additional information.

Each parameter may be associated with one picklist. However, a picklist can be assigned to one or more parameters. Select applicable parameters in the in the Parameter Assignment section on the User Defined Picklist form. A picklist can also be assigned to a parameter on the Parameter Name form. Edits made to the parameter/picklist association on either form update the information in both forms.

In the Picklist Values section on the User Defined Picklist form, add the values for the list. Each value is displayed as a line item. Use the buttons adjacent to the line item for editing and the up/down arrows at the end of the line item to rearrange the order of the list values. The order displayed in the Picklist Values section is the same order as the values listed in the Picklist Values field on the forms where monitoring data is entered.

For each picklist value, equivalent entries in different languages can be defined. When localization has been implemented, the Culture setting assigned to a user determines which entry is displayed in field lists on Essential forms. Enter the corresponding picklist values and associate each one with the appropriate language in the Picklist Value Language Values section.

Tip:  Once a picklist value has been assigned to a monitoring parameter result, it cannot be deleted.
